About Stacy's Research
Stacy S. Kim, Ph.D. has over fifteen years of experience conducting high-quality research and translating technical results into understandable reports and practical guidance for various audiences.
Her recent work has concentrated in two main areas: 1) the work-family lives of parents with young children and 2) early childhood education and care. Over the years, she has worked with and for various academic, business, and non-profit organizations:
- At the Families and Work Institute, she has worked on various research projects and has written publications to inform work-family related decisions made by policy-makers in both business and government. Studies include the National Study of the Changing Workforce, When Work Works, Feeling Overworked, and more.
- With the Institute for Workplace Innovation of the University of Kentucky, Stacy writes issue briefs on various work-life topics.
- While working at the National Center for Children and Families of Columbia University, Stacy oversaw two large-scale federally-funded research projects investigating early childhood education and care for young children of low-income families.
- At the University of Pennsylvania, where Stacy received her doctorate, Stacy studied the work-family situations of first-time mothers. She also studied outcomes of international adoptions.
- Before focusing her research on work-family issues, she worked for the Leo Burnett Company conducting marketing research for clients such as Nintendo, Miller Brewing Company, and Hallmark Cards.
