GET YOUR LIFE BACK, MOM!

Today’s moms are so busy with parenting, careers, and other responsibilities and obligations, they have very little time and energy for themselves. They know that in order to take care of others, they need to first take care of themselves. But, they’re so busy and tired, they can’t even begin to fit in what would truly nourish their minds, bodies, and spirit.

This interactive workshop series is designed to have mothers reconnect with themselves to create a balanced life.

In a supportive setting, they will learn how to:

  • (Re)discover hobbies or passions,
  • Rekindle important and meaningful relationships,
  • Find ways to create time and energy for themselves, and
  • Feel less guilty about doing the things they want to do.

The six sessions can be taken together as a series or as stand-alone workshops.

TBD: A New Approach: Stop Fixing, Start Building
Most people try to improve their lives by fixing what’s going wrong rather than building upon what’s going right. In this session (and all sessions), we take stock of your strengths. We then devise a plan that makes improving aspects of your life energizing, fun, and easy.

TBD: Envision Your Next Move with Baby Steps
Get unstuck. Figure out what you want. Step over roadblocks. Learn the easy way to set and accomplish goals.

TBD: Recapture Your Time
Find which of the many useful strategies help you find pockets of time to do more of the things you want to do. One size fits no one; in this session, we figure out what works best for you.

TBD: Clear Your Space: Declutter Your Surroundings and Your Mind
No matter where you live, most moms could use clear space and clear minds. Learn simple ways to declutter both at the same time.

TBD: Your Personal "Board of Directors"
Learn how to be more effective by tapping into the energy of the human resources around you. Networking and mentoring isn’t just for job hunting and isn’t just about asking for help. It’s a way for moms to build mutual relationships and connect with those you admire and share your talents too.

TBD: Creating a Long-Term Plan
In this session, we bring many of the above components together to build a long-term plan. It is in this session where I unveil some of my surprising “secrets” to a balanced life.

STRETCHED TOO THIN?
Surviving Modern Day Parenting in New York City

Whether they work outside the home or not, parents have so many responsibilities and obligations, it is easy to feel stretched too thin. Moreover, parents living in an action-packed, fast-paced, over-the-top competitive city, such as New York, are likely to feel tired and stressed. Even though they lovingly care for their children and get things done at work and at home, they have very little time and energy for themselves. They strive for more healthy balance in their lives but often find it is very difficult to do.

This interactive workshop is designed to help parents figure out what small steps can take to make a big impact in finding the right balance in their lives. Recognizing that there is neither a magic bullet nor a one-size-fits-all solution, the workshop includes hands-on exercises that enable parents to find the right solutions for their unique circumstances.

TBD
Location: Lighthouse International Parent Center, 111 E. 59th Street, 3rd Floor

This event is free and open to the public
If possible, please reserve your spot by emailing Regina Robinson (rrobinson@lighthouse.org).
